Q. "When did you start writing songs? When you were a little girl?"

A. "In answer to the first part of that question, I wrote and performed my first song when I was 5 years old. I was on a swing set with my best friend, Jan, who was 4. I said, 'Hey Jan, listen to this song I wrote.' I sang it. Jan said, 'That's not a song, you made that up!'
In answer to the second part, I was NEVER a 'little' girl."

Q. "Why don't you do any Linda Ronstadt songs?"

A. "Linda and I have this agreement. I don't do her stuff and she doesn't do mine."
